Episode 1

Been a rough week, y’all…

Will very briefly preface this by saying that the first time I booted up this blog thing was over 6 years ago when I was single, living at home, and felt like I had a lot to say about whatever was going on in the world at that time. I had way too much time on my hands, and not much to show for it. I would really only write when I was in my feels or depressed or just plain triggered by something…

…that last sentence is the only thing that hasn’t much changed since then.

At the time of this post, I’m married almost 4 years with an 18-month-old son, am a homeowner, and I have great friends that respect and appreciate me and my family. For several years now I have never felt the need or motivation to write much of anything, because my life has been filled with such joy since my last entry on here (early 2020 – posts deleted).

My life is still full of many blessings, but I am only human…and this particular week has triggered me in ways that I haven’t felt in a very long time. So instead of being ruled by my emotions upon immediate reaction and mindlessly blurbing them all over Facebook, I am taking the time to do this intelligently, so that I can make my thoughts abundantly clear to myself in addition to anybody that gives enough of a shit to even open or read all this…

Children praying in a church being murdered by a deranged man, a Ukrainian refugee murdered in the city where I was born by another vicious scumbag, then today…Charlie Kirk assassinated by (we all know) yet another deranged, evil, scumbag.

Now don’t let me be the first to tell you that none of these victims did anything wrong. But y’all are still getting WAY too cozy pretending to be public activists for stupid looney shit as a means to justify “why” innocent people are being murdered for literally no reason…so I’m going to help you check yourselves by stating a simple fact about each of these scenarios:

1: Those children were murdered for being in a Christian church, praying – probably even praying for all of the hellish ghouls that wished them such ill will, like their murderer.

2: Iryna Zarutska fled an already war-torn country and came here to the United States, and was only trying to catch a ride from point A to Point B on the day she was killed – and she was murdered for being a white woman (from the killer’s own words, don’t even pretend otherwise).

3: Charlie Kirk advocated for faith, family, and freedom. Notorious for openly having conversations with people who disagreed with him at every turn, yet he did so intelligently, welcomingly, and without ever insulting anyone in a debate. Born only 3 weeks before me, he was also married with two very young children – murdered because someone didn’t like how effective he had become (particularly with college-aged kids) at advocating for independent thinking and exercising the basic freedoms that our country was founded upon.

Charlie spoke truth, and truth only…and he did it up front, in your face, without hesitation, and without ill-intent. He didn’t “rEaP wHaT hE sOwEd” or whatever horseshit anti-gun narrative people are trying to spin…he willingly faced threats and traveled across the country year-round to offer his perspective while encouraging people to think for and defend themselves because we have the right to do so. He willingly risked his life for it, knowing that this was always a chance. Even if by some miracle he had survived, you know he absolutely would have gone right back out and continued doing what he did best once he was able to.

That’s called sacrifice, not “kArMa”.

As for me, I was ready to lock-and-load the second I heard the news. But either we can choose to have civilized debates/conversations the way Charlie did, or we can keep being assholes to each other and wait for another deranged lunatic to bring us all into Civil War 2.0.

If you’re the type of person who throws a tantrum at the mere thought of children praying for your soul and well-being, that means prayer is working. Being white is not a crime. Charlie Kirk was a husband, father, and a good man.

We need more children praying, not less. We need to help refugees fleeing war-torn countries (yes, that means the white ones too), not murder them in cold blood. And we desperately need civilized voices of reason, like Charlie Kirk’s.

Get your hearts right, before someone makes that decision for us.

May God be with us all

-Phil
